Custom Sawmilling in Perrin, Texas

Liberty Woodworks operates its own MechMaxx SM-32 sawmill in Perrin. We rescue useful North Texas logs, mill customer-owned logs when they are suitable, and turn recovered timber into slabs, boards, beams, mantels, furniture stock, and future handcrafted projects.

A fallen, storm-damaged, or unwanted tree does not always have to become firewood or waste. Some logs contain useful lumber with character that cannot be bought at a big-box store. We mill recovered logs for our own furniture and lumber inventory, and we also evaluate logs customers want to save.

Can Your Log Be Milled?

Not every log is a good candidate. Species, diameter, length, condition, straightness, access, and the amount of sound wood all affect what can be recovered. Oak, pecan, cedar elm, mesquite, mulberry, walnut, and other local species may produce worthwhile lumber, but each log must be evaluated individually.

Nails, fence wire, screws, bullets, and other embedded metal can damage equipment and create a serious safety hazard. Known or suspected metal must be disclosed before milling.

Customers may bring suitable logs to our Perrin operation for evaluation and possible milling. Delivery, loading, and access details are reviewed before work is scheduled. We do not promise that every tree or log can be milled.

From Your Tree to a Finished Project

A tree from your property can sometimes become lumber for a table, mantel, bench, shelf, cutting board, outdoor furniture, or another custom build. Freshly milled lumber is still green, so it must be stacked, stickered, and dried appropriately before many furniture applications.

That process takes time, but it allows the story of the tree to stay with the finished piece. Explore From Your Tree to Furniture and see our Custom Woodworking for the next stages.
