Their construction highlights the natural grain and character of the selected woods while producing a durable cutting board intended for regular kitchen use. Because real hardwood varies naturally, every finished board has its own grain pattern, color variation, and character. EDGE GRAIN uses the edge of the lumber strips as the working surface. It generally produces a strong, durable board with a more linear grain appearance.

Available hardwood species and combinations depend on current inventory. Whenever appropriate and available, we work with locally milled and rescued North Texas hardwood. Premium and exotic woods, including Purpleheart and Monkeypod, may also be available. Because those material costs vary substantially by species and availability, premium or exotic woods require an additional charge and are not included in the standard $0.47-per-cubic-inch pricing.
